Mike Seckman for Congress
My name is Michael “Mike” Shawn Seckman. I was born in 1976 in Clarksburg, West Virginia. I lived in Anmoore until the age of 12 when my family moved to Doddridge County.
I attended Doddridge County High School. I have worked several jobs from cutting right-of ways to the marble factory to the magnet factory to grocery stores, until I got into HVAC, where I have been for 23 years.

I have been with my wife since 1997. We married on January 2, 2004. She has been a CNA at a local nursing home for over 25 years.
I have never held any public office. I found myself complaining constantly. I have never had any desire to become a politician. I’m tired of complaining. And, I am ready to take a stand against greed.
I want to give the working class a voice that is heard. That is what this is ALL about. As you may know, our state lost a Congressional Seat because over 60,000 people have decided to leave West Virginia for better paying jobs.
I almost left for Florida myself. I had some great job offers. But, I decided this is my home. This is where I was born and raised. This is where I will be buried. I want to stay and fight for my people.
My father is Harry Michael Seckman. He served in the Merchant Marines in 1969. In 1970, he got his invitation to the United States Army. There, he patrolled the Berlin Wall. After his military career, dad worked at AFG Glass in Bridgeport for over 35 years.
My mom is Connie Sue Bonnell-Martin. She worked at several restaraunts. She then moved on to work in home health care for many years, until her health got the best of her. She now lives with my older sister where they make sure she gets the care she needs.
